![]() ![]() In career mode you can unlock new characters, 5 to be exact, and new abilities such as human only mode, hyper beast and increase beast and human speed. The career mode is similar to the DragonBallZ Boudakai with different dragonballz representing different moves. What is really great about this system is that you can save up to eight characters on a memory card and play them at a friends house with the new abilities. Also the characters can acquire moves from defeated characters. In some cases yes this is true but upon playing the career mode you will unlock new super moves (bring the total from 2 beast moves to 3 beast moves so far), and also new beast commands. Now that I am done with the negativity on with the rest of the review.First of all upon playing the game it appears to be that the moves and characters are exactly the same as Bloody Roar 3 with the exception of 3 and half new characters. There is a lot of blood in the game, it is cool but it may be a little over the top for some. The most noticeable is the fact that the voice overs are horrible, and there is slowdown on one stage, the sewage stage with a large air vent. ![]() To do so would be stupid.Īs far as fun is concerned this game gets a 5 star, as far as technical issues it does have its fair share of problems. And I can promise you, they’re probably not planning on changing it. It’s what will make or ruin this game/series for you. The modes are basically the same as any other fighting game, so realisticaly….look at the only difference that makes this game stand out, or look for another game. So, I repeat: The THEME is what you should ponder. I’m pretty sure the creators of this series are obviously focusing on this original theme more than anything else to stay in the competition. Yet it still posseses the nobility of a story to ponder. This game has more of a unrealistic, cartoonish theme. It is this theme that you should decide is right for you, and not the "Superiority" in the commericialized games like "Tekken 4", and "Soul Calibur". I was attracted to the game’s original theme of humans being an alter ego of something else (i.e: Bakuryu: -The Mole-, Xion: -The Unborn-)And THAT is why it is seperated from the other fighting games. Mind you that the third Bloody Roar is far less in superiority to Bloody Roar 4 in many ways. However, I personally became interested in this series in the third edition. Returning Characters Character select screen."Bloody Roar 4"….It is definately a game that fans will most likely appreciate a little more than someone who has first laid eyes on it. Kohryu (Iron Mole, unlockable secret opponent). ![]() Uranus ( Chimera, unlockable final boss). The game includes 12 playable fighters from the start and two unlockable fighters. When perform, the player can recover all of the health that the player can get back instead of waiting to recover it in a short amount of time.Īnother feature is "Hyper Beast Form", what it is it's a faster & stronger version of the Beast Form that can be use for about twelve seconds. The Beast Drive is pretty much the Super Combo. While in beast form, the player can recover some of the health that was lost over time and can perform "Beast Drive" - in other words, super combo that was seen in Capcom and SNK fighting games. A fight in the game starts with both fighters meters filled up and both players have the option to transform into a beast. The main feature in the Bloody Roar series, the Beast Form, returns in Bloody Roar 3. The button commands are punch, kick, throw, beast form button, and the L2 & R2 button is side-step left and side-step right - the player has the option to double tap up or down to side-step. The game uses a total of six buttons - thought the shoulder buttons on the PS2 controller are optional. An enhanced version, titled Bloody Roar: Primal Fury (also known as Bloody Roar Extreme), was released both for the GameCube on Maand for the Xbox on May 27, 2003. It was later ported to the PlayStation 2 on Main Japan (by Hudson Soft), on Jin North America (by Activision), and on Augin Europe (by Virgin). The sequel to Bloody Roar II, Bloody Roar 3 features higher-quality graphics and new gameplay mechanics (such as mid-air combos and a more-powerful one-use "Hyper Beast Mode" transformation). Bloody Roar 3 is a 3D fighting game developed and released by Hudson Soft and Eighting for arcades (using PS2-based Namco System 246 hardware) exclusively in Japan on December 2000. ![]()
